• I’m Janice Crossfield, a well-qualified and trusted freelance translator.
  • My entire working life has been devoted to languages, for the last 12 years as a professional freelance translator and previously as a teacher of Modern Languages (French and Spanish to A-level).
  • I hold an honours degree class IIi in French, an MA (with distinction) in Translation Studies and a PGCE in Modern Languages.
  • I have also contributed material for professionally published Modern Languages revision guides and have provided tuition in French and Spanish.
  • My various travels have given me the opportunity to visit and learn about cultural, historical attractions and monuments, which serves me well in my translation work.
  • I’m based in the charming city of Lancaster, in a beautiful corner of northwest England close to the Lake District, the Forest of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales and the coast.
  • My interests include competing in the Lancaster City Quiz League, for which I am the treasurer, yoga, watching football and relaxing with a good book. I love nothing more than a leisurely browse around a second-hand bookshop in the hope of unearthing a few gems!
